1. Project Mission
IPTV - Field Trial „Buntes Fernsehen Engerwitzdorf“
The IPTV project “Buntes Fernsehen Engerwitzdorf” startet as field trial in 2004 in the rural region of upper Austria. It encourages local citizens to generate local content and distribute it via the TV-set.
It is a Research & Development Project focusing on the future of television and a globally recognised success model for democratisation of the media via IPTV-technology.
Mission

Our vision is a new, social TV; a new media that reconnects people who are actually living next door to each other instead of isolating them.
Imagine a future where multitudes of locally created television pictures bring people and communities closer together.
Objectives
| - | Motivate and enable citizens to create their own content and distribute it within the local community via the TV-set. Motivate businesses and institutions to showcase their innovations. |
| - | Build an environment, where home-equipment and basic skills in video production are sufficient for successful self-expression. |
| - | Foster the Community of Engerwitzdorf, integrate new habitants, interlink scattered activities, close the generation gap, as a model for other rural communities. |
| - | Learn in all fields of broadband-based communication to co-create new services between the public and the private sector. |
| - | Evaluate the potential of broadband for local communication and regional development. |
